Dive Bali
A
world renowned destination, Bali is famous for its beaches, traditional
massage, and of course great hospitality. It’s an artistic haven
for those seeking to immerse themselves in the culture of Balinese
life. Here you will find traditional dance, carvings and paintings
on every corner, and most importantly an overload for your senses
in some of Indonesia’s finest restaurants.

Surfers have been coming here for decades now to enjoy the waves
of Uluwatu
and other great breaks, but over the last ten years it has become
a beacon to divers in search of all things big and small. Spend a
week here and it’s easy to see why. Located in the clear waters
of the north-western point of the Lesser Sunda Islands, you will find
Java to the west and Lombok to the east, and below, the Asian continental
shelf. Through this channel flows the greatest concentration of tidal
water in the world, providing powerful currents and nutrient rich
upwellings. It is because of this channel Bali is graced with regular
visits from the majestic manta ray and the rare and magnificent sunfish,
known locally as the Mola Mola.
Bali really does have something for every diver, from shore dives
with nudibranch covered slopes to deep drop offs with coral covered
walls. Here you will find leafy scorpion fish, frogfish and even pygmy
seahorse who call these reefs home. No visit to Bali is complete without
a trip to the USAT Liberty Wreck, home to dense schools of big eye
trevally and a resident great barracuda who you are sure to meet.
With sightings of huge manta rays and tiny harlequin shrimp in a
single day, it’s easy to see why Bali is a hot spot for divers
in the know. Above land is equally as breathtaking as all this is
set against a stunning backdrop of towering volcanoes and romantic
rice paddy terraces. Finish your day off by hiring an all-knowing
Bemo driver, who is always ready to take you to the next adventure,
and Bali will have you coming back time and time again.
