Dive Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is located approximately 70 kilometers south of Krabi on the South Eastern side of Thailand. The island stretches for 27 kilometers north-south and is traversed by a mountain range covered in virgin rain forest, some of which reaches heights of 500 meters. Crystal clear water and powdery white beaches dominate the West Coast, and any diver wanting to check out Southern Thailand's greatest dive sites will find the perfect base in Koh Lanta. With access to the Southern dive sites of Koh Phi Phi and the King Cruiser Wreck, it’s not hard to see why divers flock here. However, it’s Lanta’s proximity to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang that have really put it on the map as one of Thailand’s premier dive locations.

Koh Lanta is situated just 20 km from Koh Rok, twin pinnacles offer steep walls covered with pink, purple and red soft corals that house an incredible variety of marine life. Being the lone coral outcrops in the deep open sea, this site attracts a large numbers of pelagic fish, Jacks, fusiliers, tuna and barracuda are often here. Schools of curious grey reef sharks will often approach divers for a closer look, and during peak season for Manta’s, it’s possible to see these graceful giants on an almost daily basis. The site also has one of the world's highest incidence of whale shark sightings to top it all off. Another highlight of diving in Thailand is Koh Ha, a series of caverns at the largest of the islands, Koh Ha Yai. The emerald light filtering through the cave entrance at sunrise creates a magical scene. The caves are safe to enter due to the large entrances, and you can surface inside to view the stalactites hanging from the ceiling, it is truly an incredible sight.

Back on the island you will find wonderful beaches facing west providing magical sunsets on a backdrop of verdant jungle. Koh Lanta is an island that will have you coming back time and time again. This is a place where time is forgotten; you can spend hours here simply soaking up the beauty of the world around you.
