Dive Raja Ampat– Four Kings

Misool Eco ResortWelcome to the Coral Triangle, and at its heart you find Raja Ampat, the most bio-diverse marine environment in the world. This is in fact one of the richest coral reef ecosystems you can dive today. Boasting over 1000 species of reef fish, 600 species of hard corals and 13 species of marine mammals it’s no wonder that Raja Ampat is known to have the highest marine biodiversity ever recorded on earth.

Raja Ampat is part of the newly named west Papua province of Indonesia, formerly known as Irian Jaya. The archipelago actually consists of over 1500 small islands and cays, though the four main islands are Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo; hence its name which translates from Indonesian into “Four Kings”. The striking beauty above the water is matched only by that below.

After taking your first few breaths beneath the surface of these pristine waters, even the most experienced diver is sure to see they are diving one of the world last untouched frontiers. There are dazzlingly colourful reefs starting just inches below the surface, which can be seen from afar thanks to the consistently great visibility. Innumerable wrecks, whether it be ships or planes, litter the area encouraging constant exploration.

Here you truly have it all, everything from the rare tasselled wobbegongs and a stunning variety of critters to regular visits from turtles and manta rays. You are sure to feel intoxicated by the sheer beauty of these islands.

In Raja Ampat, every time you slip below the surface you get the feeling of being a pioneer on the verge of discovering a new realm. This is pleasure and discovery simply at its best.
